Your Website Is Business Infrastructure — We Treat It That Way

Most web designers build your site, hand it over, and move on to the next project. When something breaks six months later — a plugin update takes the site down, a security vulnerability shows up, your hosting provider has an outage — you’re on your own trying to reach someone who may or may not remember your project.

We’re not a web design shop. We’re an IT company that builds and manages websites on the same infrastructure we use for medical practices, law firms, and financial offices. Your site runs on a managed VPS with security monitoring, automated backups, SSL certificates, and Cloudflare CDN — because that’s how we build everything.

When you call us, you reach the same team that built your site. We handle CMS updates, security patches, performance issues, and content changes. You don’t need a separate hosting company, a separate security vendor, and a separate designer who’s hard to reach. It’s one team, one relationship, one phone number.

Several of our managed IT clients have had us rebuild and host their websites for exactly this reason — they’d rather have one team that understands their entire environment than juggle multiple vendors who don’t talk to each other.

What We Build

Every site is custom — designed around your brand, your content, and how your customers actually use it. We work primarily in Joomla and WordPress, and we build eCommerce stores on WooCommerce and VirtueMart.

Custom Website Design

Original layouts built around your brand identity and audience. No templates, no cookie-cutter themes. Responsive across all devices — desktop, tablet, and phone.

Joomla & WordPress Development

Full CMS implementation so you can manage your own content updates without calling us for every text change. We handle the platform setup, configuration, and custom functionality — you handle the day-to-day content.

eCommerce Stores

WooCommerce (WordPress) and VirtueMart (Joomla) online stores with secure payment processing, inventory management, shipping integration, and product catalog setup. We build the store and train you to run it.

Platform Migrations

Moving from a static HTML site, an outdated CMS, or a platform that’s no longer supported? We migrate your content, preserve your search rankings, and minimize downtime during the transition.

SEO & Search Visibility

On-page optimization, schema markup, local SEO targeting, keyword strategy, and content guidance to help your site show up when Ohio customers search for what you do.

CMS Training

We train you to manage your own content — adding pages, updating text, uploading images, managing products. You shouldn’t have to pay someone every time you need to change a phone number.

“Capstone provided outstanding customer service to my organization at very fair, affordable pricing. Brian and his team solved a variety of issues with our network including choosing a new Internet Services Provider. Capstone helped us improve daily operations by performing computer maintenance/updates. He also helped and guided us through the design and launching of our new website. The staff at Capstone are very professional and highly qualified.”

What Your Website Runs On

Every site we build is hosted on managed VPS infrastructure that we own and maintain. This isn’t shared hosting where your site competes with hundreds of others for resources — it’s dedicated server capacity with the same security and backup standards we apply to business IT environments.

Managed VPS Hosting

Dedicated server resources, not shared hosting. We manage the server, the operating system, and the web stack so you never have to think about it.

Security Monitoring

Firewall management, malware scanning, intrusion detection, and SSL certificate management. We monitor for threats and respond before they become problems.

Automated Backups

Regular automated backups of your site files and database. If something goes wrong — a bad update, a hacked plugin, accidental deletion — we restore it.

Performance & CDN

Cloudflare CDN integration for fast load times, DDoS protection, and global content delivery. Your site loads quickly whether your customer is in Dayton or Denver.

CMS & Plugin Updates

We keep your CMS platform, plugins, and extensions current. Updates are tested before deployment so they don’t break your site.

Domain & DNS Management

Domain registration, DNS configuration, email routing, and renewal management. We handle the plumbing so your domain, email, and website all work together.

How the Process Works

A standard website project takes 6–12 weeks from first conversation to launch, depending on scope. eCommerce projects with large product catalogs or custom functionality may take longer. Here’s what the process looks like.

Discovery. We start with your goals, your audience, and your content. What does your business do? Who needs to find you? What do you need the site to accomplish? If you have an existing site, we review what’s working and what isn’t.

Design. We create layouts and page structures based on your brand. You review, give feedback, and we refine. Nothing goes into development until you’re satisfied with the design direction.

Development. We build the site on your chosen CMS platform, configure hosting infrastructure, set up security, and integrate any third-party tools (payment processing, scheduling, forms, analytics).

Training. Before launch, we walk you through the CMS so you can handle routine content updates yourself. We document the process so you have a reference.

Launch & Ongoing. Site goes live on managed hosting with security, backups, and monitoring active from day one. We handle CMS updates, security patches, and technical issues going forward. You call one number for everything.

“I have been a client of Capstone Technology for 16 years. No matter the concern — network issues, software, hardware, HIPAA — you name it, Capstone has the answers. Beyond the technical capabilities, what makes Capstone unique is accessibility and personal touch. I have always worked with Brian, and no matter what time of day or night, he has been available. He is always pleasant, attentive, and gets the job done.”

Frequently Asked Questions

A standard business website takes 6–12 weeks from initial conversation to launch. eCommerce sites with large product catalogs or custom integrations may take longer. The biggest variable is usually content — the sooner we have your text, images, and product information, the faster the project moves.

We can build sites for external hosting, but most clients use our managed VPS hosting because it includes security monitoring, automated backups, CMS updates, and technical support. You’re not locked in — if you decide to move your site later, we’ll help with the migration.

Yes. We build every site on a content management system (Joomla or WordPress) specifically so you can handle routine updates — adding pages, editing text, uploading images, managing products. We provide training before launch and documentation you can reference. For anything beyond routine content — design changes, new functionality, technical issues — that’s what our ongoing support covers.

GoDaddy and Bluehost are shared hosting — your site shares a server with hundreds of other sites, and when something goes wrong, you submit a ticket to a support queue. Our hosting is managed VPS — dedicated server resources, and when something goes wrong, you call us directly. We also handle security monitoring, CMS updates, backups, and performance optimization as part of the hosting. With shared hosting, those are all your responsibility.

Yes. We build online stores using WooCommerce (for WordPress sites) and VirtueMart (for Joomla sites). That includes product catalog setup, payment gateway integration, shipping configuration, inventory management, and training on how to manage orders and products. The store runs on the same managed hosting infrastructure as our other sites — backed up, monitored, and maintained.

We handle platform migrations regularly. Whether you’re moving from a static HTML site, an outdated CMS, or a platform that’s no longer supported, we migrate your content, set up the new platform, and configure hosting. We take steps to preserve your existing search rankings during the transition and minimize downtime.

Every site we build includes foundational SEO — proper page titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, schema markup, image optimization, and mobile responsiveness. For businesses that want to actively improve their search visibility, we offer ongoing SEO services including keyword strategy, content guidance, local SEO targeting, and performance tracking through analytics.

Managed hosting includes CMS and plugin updates, security patching, backup management, performance monitoring, and technical support. If your site goes down, gets hacked, or a plugin update breaks something, we fix it. Content updates beyond what you handle yourself — design changes, new page layouts, functionality additions — are billed separately or covered under a maintenance agreement depending on your needs.

We’ve been building and managing websites for Ohio businesses since 2004 — the same year we started managing their IT environments. Your website is part of your business infrastructure, and we treat it with the same attention we give to networks, security, and data protection.
